stood on her toes, moaning when her hard nipples came into contact with his hard chest.
Desperate to feel her nakedness against his, she pulled him down struggling to
get closer.
    Jett coughed, making
Niall break away. His eyes narrowed and glittered as they looked at his pack
mate. “Jett , this is Alaina. Alaina, this is my best
friend, Jett.” Pulling her next to him, Niall pressed a kiss to her temple.
“Did you find anything?” he asked Jett.
    Instead of being angry
at his show of possessiveness, Jett’s eyes danced with amusement. Grinning, Jett approached Alaina with an outstretched hand. A skull
and crossbones ring was on his left middle finger, and like both he and Zayn,
Jett had several tattoos. He ignored Niall’s warning glare, clearly setting
Niall’s teeth on edge. “Hello there, gorgeo us. I can
see why Ny wanted to keep you all to himself. If
you get tired of all his snarling, make him bring you down to
Chaps tonight. It’s ladies night, and we know how to treat
the ladies. Right, Ny?” An undercurrent was being spoken, but she couldn’t d iscern what they were talking about.
    Shrugging, she looked
up at Niall. “What is Chaps? I saw it on your shirt and this one.” She plucked
at the one she had on, drawing both men’s attention. Niall and Jett growled.
    Niall met Jett’s eyes
with what she would call a furious scowl, which
seemed to amuse him even more. Turning back down to her, he frowned. “Surely
you didn’t travel halfway across the country without any clothes?”
    “Torq made a key for
her car and popped the trunk. She’d had a flat tire up the roa d and for some reason decided to cut through the woods
instead of sticking to the road. Do you remember why?” Jett asked.
    Alaina stiffened. “No.
I’m not stupid, and I do know how to change a tire. Was there not a spare in
the car?”
    Jett shrugged. “Yeah,
th ere was. You locked your suitcase and purse in the
trunk, so at least you’ve got clothes and ID.” His black gaze went from her to
Niall and back again as if she’d lost her mind.
    Her easy camaraderie
with the two men disappeared. Niall looked equally frustr ated with the news, something they’d have to deal with as
soon as they were alone.
    “Did they bring her
car to my place?” Niall asked.
    Looking worried, Jett
nodded. “I scouted from the road to here, and Bronx, along with a couple
others, fanned out and coul dn’t find fresh tracks. No
keys or phone.”
    Niall pulled her phone
out of his pocket. “I found it down at the bottom where she’d fallen, but
nothing else. Her missing keys are worrisome. I suggest you change all your
locks when you get home.”
Her heart ache d at the impending loss of never seeing him again. Silly. She struggled to keep her emotions from
showing or her scent from alerting them to how she felt. With the feel of
Niall’s body and his heat pressing against hers, it was hard for her to
breathe, let alone think clearly, or hide the fact
she was trembling.
    “I’d like to go back
to your house so I can shower and change into my own clothes, then I can be out
of your hair.” Both men stood well over six feet tall, making her feel small
and insignificant. S he’d shared her body with Niall,
something no other man had the pleasure of, and now he couldn’t wait to be rid
of her. Talk about a wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am. Hot tears burned her eyes, but
she held them back. She remembered the way back and didn’t need Ni all, or any man, for that matter.
    Before she could do
more than take a couple steps, a hard arm came around her waist, lifting her
off her feet. “Where the hell do you think you’re going?” Niall’s harsh growl
reverberated next to her ear.
“Back to your hou se to get cleaned up so I can leave.”
    Setting her back on
the ground, he barked an order to Jett. “Head to the club. If I can, I’ll be there later. Did you
leave her key at my place?”
    Alaina couldn’t look
at either man, shaken by the rush of
