to her short, curvy frame. He’ll always protect me, she thought. Not just from physical harm, but emotional too. Like he did last night.
Before she knew what was happening, he leaned down and pressed his lips to hers, firmly but gently. Fireworks seemed to go off in her mind as he kissed her, and Alice simply stood there in shock and let him do it. She had never been kissed before, and she knew that the first kiss was special, but she hadn’t expected it to feel like this. Her entire body felt as if it had been set ablaze from within, and her core was pulsing with some sort of wild energy. The pressure that she had felt earlier was building deep within her belly, and she finally began to kiss him back.
The tip of Caleb’s tongue glided over her lips, and she instinctively parted them, allowing him to deepen the kiss like she knew he wanted to. As he explored her mouth, he tightened his grip around her waist, and Alice’s mind was immediately flooded with needful lust. She wanted to feel the heat of his touch on her bare skin, so she pulled away from the kiss just as he began to entwine his tongue with hers.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
“Yes,” she replied. “I just… I want more from you.”
A devilish smile played on Caleb’s lips as he looked into her eyes, his other arm still pressed against the wall.
“Are you sure that you’re ready?” he asked.
Alice felt her cheeks turning pink again. Tonight had been her first kiss, but it would also be the first time that she had felt a man’s touch. Caleb seemed to have already figured this out, but she said it anyway.
“I’ve never… I’ve never been with a man before,” she whispered.
“I know. I can tell certain things from your scent,” he said.
He pulled his hand away from the wall and trailed it down the side of her face, gently stroking her cheeks with his fingernails before tucking a loose strand of her dark hair behind her ear.
“Can I ask you something?” she said.
“Anything.”
“What if I had been with a man before? Would I still be your predestined mate?”
“Of course,” he said. “If you had been with men before, I might feel jealous occasionally, but it would all be in the past, and it wouldn’t be any of my business. You’re a woman with free will, and I have no right to judge that. All that matters now is that you stay true to me as I stay true to you.”
“I will,” Alice replied, knowing deep down in her heart that it was true. She would never be able to stray from such an incredible man.
With that, Caleb kissed her again, rougher this time but still gentle enough so that he wasn’t hurting her. He nipped at her lower lip for a second before pulling away, and Alice let out a soft cry at the strange mixture of pain and arousal that was surging through her veins.
“You liked that?” he asked.
“Yes. Kiss me like that again,” she replied, her voice conveying her sense of urgency.
Her full chest was rising and falling in short, quick breaths as she waited for him to press his lips to hers again, and when he did, she closed her eyes and nearly moaned into his mouth as she felt another bolt of electricity surge through her body.
Caleb’s sharp teeth grazed her lips again as if he wanted to devour her through his kisses, and Alice threw her head back, giving him easier access to her mouth. Still hungrily kissing her, he picked her up in his strong arms and held her against the wall so that their faces were evenly matched up, and then broke away, moving his mouth over her neck and earlobes instead.
As he planted warm kisses on her soft skin, Alice cried out in wanton need, and he began to nip at her earlobes, sending more powerful shivers racing up and down her spine. She wrapped her legs and arms around his back, stroking and caressing the hard, tight muscles that lay beneath his shirt, and as he nipped at her neck, she moaned
