to say to a thing like that. The men came back and the woman turned to the owner. “I’ve asked Reina to please join the calendar shoot. I want her for the cover. If we feature her, the calendars will definitely sell. Don’t you think?” The man looked at her and smiled.

“I think, that it is a splendid idea. Only if you feel comfortable with it my dear. We would never make you feel obligated to do anything you don’t want to do.” His words made Reina feel better. Jed turned and looked so proud of her. How the hell did she say no now? So she mustered up her guts and agreed.

“Oh shit, what did I just get myself into?” Reina asked trying not to hyperventilate on the ride home. She didn’t even know what they expected. What kind of pictures would they be? So many questions were popping up.

“Baby, you don’t have to do it if you don’t want to.” Jed reassured her. It help to ease the worry. They agreed that she would go to the photo shoot tomorrow. If it didn’t feel right. They would bail. Once again, Jed kissed her goodnight and she sent him on his way.
    ~*~*~*~

When Jed got home, everyone was waiting for him. “Spill it man. What did they say?” Victor asked seeming as excited as he was.

“How did the dinner go?” His mother asked. They were shooting questions at him left and right.

Sergio walked over and handed him a beer. “It’s going to be a long night Bro.” When Jed spotted the bruise on Sergio’s nose he chuckled. Yes, this was his crazy family.

Chapter Eight

The next morning, Jed woke early and headed out to meet Reina and her mother. He was happily surprised to see Patricia there too. He had forgotten his Reina’s mom had hooked up with his mother’s other friend. “Ladies, Always lovely as ever I see.”

“Still the charmer Jed Diaz, I see.” Patricia said as she shook his hand a little too hard. Jed frowned, “that was from your mom. She should be here in about.”

“Jed hijo de tu Madre. Why did you leave without me? I know you didn’t think you were coming to see my friends without me.” Jed lowered his head in embarrassment. Truth be told, this was what he was trying to avoid.

“I’m sorry Aunt Michelle. I don’t think he was thinking at all.” His Reina tried to sooth his mother. Michelle smiled and hugged her future daughter in law.

“None of this Aunt Michelle. Call me mama.” Michelle insisted until Reina’s mom cleared her throat.

“I think my daughter already has too many mama’s don’t you think Michelle? I think she should just call you Michelle and omit the Aunt part. It’ll make us seem to, whatever. You know what I mean.” To Jed’s amusement. His mother just agreed and sat. It was quite refreshing to see that someone could over power his mother.

The rest of the meal was spent talking about the past and of course the mothers kept trying to get them to commit to a date. He told them what he had told Reina. He would wait until she was ready. They needed to still get to know each other better.

Before he knew it, it was time to go and see the doctor. Wild horses couldn’t keep his mother away so, she tagged along. When they got to the doctor’s office, Reina was happy. “You came to see Alexis?”

“Yes, mom set it up.  Although she was a little bit cold and serious. She was fun as a kid.” He figured it must be the stressful job. To his surprise Reina blushed.

They were called by none other than Alexis herself. So he figured he would ask her what was up later. To his utter astonishment, the prime and proper doctor actually squealed. “Reina, what’re you doing here?” She asked as they embraced.

“I came with Jed and his mom. I wanted to make sure he was ok.”

Alexis looked shocked, then confused. “Are we allowed to like him again?” She smirked at Reina, whose blush increased to the color of a tomato. Then Reina lifted her hand and showed off her
